1. What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. Browser storage (localStorage) works in a similar way, except the data is not sent to the server automatically.
2. What we use
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
ostati_sid | Your signed-in session in the app and admin panel. Not readable by JavaScript and sent over HTTPS only. | 30 days or until you sign out |
ostati_lang | Your chosen language, so the next visit opens in it. | 1 year |
ostati_theme | Light or dark mode. | 1 year |
| localStorage | App preferences: text size, language, theme, and whether you added the app to your home screen. The app also keeps files in the browser cache so it works offline. | Until you clear it |
These cookies are shared between ostati.ai and its subdomains, so your language and theme stay the same everywhere.
3. What we don’t use
We don’t use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, ad networks or any other third-party tracking. The only external resource on the website ostati.ai is Google Fonts: when the fonts load, Google sees your IP address but does not set cookies.
4. How to control them
You can view and delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block ostati_sid, you won’t be able to sign in to the app. If you delete the language and theme cookies, the site simply goes back to its defaults.
